First chili peppers

Editor's note: I was so excited to spot peppers I completely missed the fact that this little plant has been chowed down upon by the local deer. Poor little guy. But he's resilient--he's bearing three peppers at the moment. Pape says if we can fend off the rogue foragers, the chili's will make a strong comeback.

Grow chili's grow.

Things I'm thankful for today

1. The folks we now call friends who welcomed us into their world with utter graciousness.

2. The ebb and flow of life--opportunity, closed doors, endings and beginnings--that leads to such remarkable and unexpected places.

3. Life-giving creative endeavors.

4. How far the internet reaches from a very small town in the middle of nowhere.

(And hoping it will be fixed, for reals this time, soon.)

5. Our staunchly loyal and supportive family. Both pictured and not.

Deer tracks

The peanuts are continuing to do well.

The downside is we aren't the only one's to notice.

Hard to blame them though. There's nothing else green to eat right now. We may be forced to put up some unfortunately-perfumed scarecrows to fend them off.

Pretty sure

This is not the type of Cosmo I envisioned playing a role in my life.
